I was Held to High Standards

I was held to high standards
I hold others to high standards
When others don’t seem to care
I get annoyed

I snipe at them, get sarcastic, critical

But this comes at a cost: others feel attacked, alienated and they don’t like my vibe.

Those with exceptional performance and attention to detail end up in leadership positions.

But incubating the next generation looks like accepting that everyone is doing the best they can.

It’s time to graduate from your persona of competitive superiority and move into the service of others.

Rather than attacking incompetence, it’s time to get curious as to why a seemingly ambitious person isn’t hitting the mark.

You can attack or you can help!

How can you reframe how you see your team this week?
