Why play a sh*tty round at work, when you could be playing like a pro?

In 2012, my UBS Salesman smoked me in golf at Westchester GC.

I’d been playing pretty much my whole life.
To my shock, he had been playing “on mats at Chelsea Piers” for about a year.

The difference? Ok maybe he was a good athlete, but the big difference was he was taking weekly lessons with an experienced instructor. Whereas, as a long time player, I had thought ‘why waste money on lessons.’

Take two good athletes, or two good Private Equity professionals, of similar raw talent / IQ… the one with regular coaching by an experienced coach will “smoke” the other.

Why play a sh*tty round at work, when you could be playing like a pro? If you’re not spending time improving your game regularly, you’re shanking a lot of balls into the woods whether you’re aware of it or not.
